Due to amendments made to Cabinet Regulation No. 266, Section 34.1, which currently reads as follows: “within the territory owned or possessed by the owner or keeper of a pet (companion) animal, provided that the territorial unit of the Service has been informed about the trade of pet animals.”

This means that every club member who sells puppies, kittens, ferrets, etc., must submit information to the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) office of their city, municipality, parish, or other local administrative area.

Despite the requirement to inform the PVD about such trade, the animal owner is not obligated to allow any unauthorized persons, including PVD inspectors, into their apartment or house. They may enter private property only with permission signed by a prosecutor. Providing this information does not impose any additional obligations on the owner.
