Information on reporting puppy trafficking to the PVS

Due to the fact that changes have been made to the Cabinet of Ministers’ Regulations 266. 34.1, which currently reads as follows: in the territory in the possession or possession of the owner of a domestic (indoor) animal, if the territorial structural unit of the service has been informed about the trade in domestic (indoor) animals  .  This means that every club member who sells puppies, kittens, ferrets, etc.  must send information to the PVD administration of their city, parish, etc.

Despite the fact that the PVD must be informed about this trade, the owner of the animal may not allow any unauthorized person, including PVD inspectors, into his apartment or house.  They may enter private property only with a permit signed by the prosecutor.  Informing does not impose any additional obligations.

Information can be sent by post, fax or electronically.  When sending electronically, the letter should end with the words “The document has been prepared electronically and is valid without a signature.”  You can find out the coordinates of the territorial structural units of the PVD  at www.pvd.gov.lv
